the 5th annual Tourney on the Turf will be held at Prentiss Park (2009 East Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44314) Google Map · Mapquest Map
. The first serve will begin at 10 am with check in from at 9 - 9:30 am and a captains meeting at 9:40 to announce the pools. Be there early to set up camp! The minimum donation to participate is $20 per person (or $15 for those individuals still attending high school). Everyone will get an official tournament t-shirt and tons of great volleyball. And don't forget the all-famous slip-n-slide, raffle prizes, and concessions.
Divisions include: Coed 4's A/AA (min. 2 girls per team), Coed 4's B/BB (min. 2 girls per team), and Recreational Coed 6's (min. 2 girls per team).
This year, proceeds from the tournament will benifit, Elijah Gilliam, a 16 year old junior at Kent Roosevelt HS. He was diagnosed last year with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a fast-growing cancer of the white blood cells. Elijah has also been battling Chron's Disease for over two years.
The City of Akron Recreation Bureau and Volleyfreak are honored to be able to host this tournament for the Gilliam family (who are avid volleyball players)!

The Madison Summer Classic is a co-ed 4's tournament played on grass at Stanton Community Park in Madison, Ohio. There are three divisions in Open/A, BB and B. The cost is $100 per team, with two male and two female required on each team.
The Summer Classic is held on the first Saturday after the last full weekend in July. This years tournament will be held on Saturday August 6th, 2011. Check-in- begins at 8:15 am, starting time is 9:00am. Cash prizes are given to the winners in the Open/A division. The winners in the BB and B divisions will receive t-shirts and gift certificates. In all divisions, t-shirts will be awarded to all second place teams. A catered lunch will be provided at 12:00pm, along with water and Gatorade in our registration tent. The 25th Annuall Mud and Grass Volleyball and Mud Dodgeball Tournament will be held on JULY 17TH, 2010. Join for a day of fun, sun, music,
volleyball, and dodgeball. This event is guaranteed to be one of the most memorable events/parties of the summer. Located at the Cuyahoga County Airport
in Richmond Heights OH, teams from all over the U.S. will flock to this event and get down and dirty. 40 courts will be dug and filled with water to create a
muddy playing surface covering each court. Another 20 courts will be set up for those who wish to remain clean-grass play. Another 6 courts will be dug for
dodgeball, and oh yeah they're filled with mud as well. For those of you that may get hungry throughout the day, fear not. All food is provided by the
Winking Lizard Tavern, and for my favorite part of the event, beer will be served all day long.

The tournament, presented by Kincaid Promotions, in association with the Beach Club, is set for 12PM. Rain or shine.
All ages and abilities are welcome to enter this recreational, family orientated, beach volleyball tournament.
Coed teams of 4 will compete in 4 divisions, with a 3 game guarantee. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams.

The Madison Summer Classic is a co-ed 4's tournament played on grass at Stanton Community Park in Madison, Ohio. There are three divisions in Open/A, BB and B. The cost is $100 per team, with two male and two female required on each team.
The Summer Classic is held on the first Saturday after the last full weekend in July. This years tournament will be held on Saturday August 6th, 2011. Check-in- begins at 8:15 am, starting time is 9:00am. Cash prizes are given to the winners in the Open/A division. The winners in the BB and B divisions will receive t-shirts and gift certificates. In all divisions, t-shirts will be awarded to all second place teams. A catered lunch will be provided at 12:00pm, along with water and Gatorade in our registration tent. Stanton Community Park is located at 5585 Chapel Rd. Madison, Ohio.
Proceeds for this tournament will go the Madison Food Center. When you are making plans for the upcoming summer, don’t forget about the Madison Summer Classic!

The 25th Annuall Mud and Grass Volleyball and Mud Dodgeball Tournament will be held on JULY 17TH, 2010. Join for a day of fun, sun, music,

in Richmond Heights OH, teams from all over the U.S. will flock to this event and get down and dirty. 40 courts will be dug and filled with water to create a

Wanted to let everyone know that they are going to be having a coed 6's SAND tournament on Saturday, June 19, 2010. It will be called "The World Cup of Mitchells."
As you all may know, next month the real World Cup (soccer) will begin in South Africa. Every team entered in our tournament will be assigned
a country that will be competing in the real World Cup. Each team will come to the tournament dressed representing the country they have been assigned.
Sort of like halloween in June on the volleyball court. The team with the best costumes will win a World Cup 2010 prize (every player will vote
at the tournament to decide the winner). In addition, the overall winning team for the tournament will receive official AVP leather volleyballs.
2nd place will receive some form of prize as well. They will have bagels and cream cheese at the start, and cake later in the day for all players.
They will provide refs for the entire day at NO EXTRA COST. They have limited space and several teams have already asked about entering
....so starting now, registration is open. Please make checks payable to William Green and you can drop them off to him anytime at Mitchells
from Monday-Friday. He is always reffing court #1. Feel free to email Will (william.green.iv AT gmail.com) call/text him (216.832.1077) or
stop up and see him at Mitchells.
They are going to have some "World Cup of Mitchells" tshirts for sale at the tournament. They will have a few samples there, but then taking orders
so that everyone can get the size and style they would like (tshirts or tank tops). It should take less than a week for the shirts to be ready
so hopefully anyone buying one will have it by their next match at Mitchells during the week.

Coed 4's Sand Volleyball Tournament to benefit ACS, Saturday May 8 at Lock 3 volleyball courts, 10 am start (rain date Sunday May 9)
Relay for Life is an annual event to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The 24 hour walk/run is supposed to symbolize the journey of the
cancer patient from diagnosis to remission. Jen Urycki, Tallmadge High School guidance counselor, advises a team of Tallmadge High School students
each year that set a fundraising goal in their attempt to "pay it forward." Unfortunately many of these students have been affected by cancer in a
personal way by either a friend or family member's diagnosis. This year the kids have set a goal of $15,000. (Last year they raised $14,200).
The students give countless amounts of hours. They collect money outside of Wal-mart, hold car washes, they produce, direct and perform in
their own benefit show--which last week raised $2,700.00...its amazing what kind of effort they are willing to give for ACS.
The Tallmadge Relay for Life will be held on May 15 at the old Tallmadge HS stadium (484 East Avenue, Tallmadge OH).
So, Volleyfreak would like to join the fight against cancer and host a Coed 4's Sand Volleyball Tournament at Lock 3 on May 8.
ALL proceeds from the volleyball tourney will go directly to the American Cancer Society.
Checks should be made payable to the American Cancer Society. Lunch will be provided & prizes will be awarded to winning team.
If you would like to solicit additional donations, every bit counts! The person that brings in the most money will receive a special prize.
Team registration is limited to the first 10 teams, so register early!

A team roster and $20.00 refundable registration fee must be turned in to the LCCC HPER office
by Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. – NO EXCEPTIONS! The $20.00 check will be returned after your team
has completed all its officiating responsibilities. Your team will not be registered unless fee is attached. Please indicate on the
roster in which division you would like to play. “A” division teams may play in "A" Division. "C" Division teams may have 1 male and 1 female "B" player on the roster
ENTRY FEE is a new toy equal to a $10 value per participant. Players will check in and sign waivers when toy is turned in on the day of the tournament.
Toys are donated to Elyria Salvation Army
AWARDS: Tshirts will be given to the first place team in each division.
FOUR DIVISIONS:
.....Girls Junior (12/13, 14/15, 16/17 divisions) Play on Friday evening Dec. 11th (Check in at 5:00 p.m.; Games start at 6:00 p.m)...Junior teams must supply one adult official

About the format: In the scrambled format, you only register half of a coed team. For each match, you'll be paired up with another half-team
to form a coed 4s . The other team will be built the same way. This allows for great variety and tons of playing time.
If you haven't played a scrambled tournament already, come experience it yourself. This is a great social environment and very fun, competitive volleyball to boot.

Team fee is mandatory. Format is round robin with a single elimination playoff. You will play a minimum of 8 games. Cost is $30 per player.

Many of you know Brandon H from either playing volleyball with him or having him officiate your volleyball matches.
Brandon is not only part of the VooDoo Athletics family as someone that refs for us, but he is a good friend as well.
On Saturday, May 2,2009, Brandon had a life changing injury that for now has left him in a surgical intensive care unit
at Metro Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. As you all probably feel the same way, it is extremely difficult to sit idly by and
do nothing while a friend lies in a hospital bed. It's time to do something and what we can to help our friend.
I am asking anyone and everyone who finds themself reading this letter to please join VooDoo Athletics and myself
to raise money in order to ease the financial burden on both Brandon and his family.
If anyone has an outdoor volleyball net, and is willing to donate it's use, please contact Matthew

Akron Rec has just confirmed that they have three (3) courts for a tournament on Sunday March 29, 2009.
Two courts at Jennings CLC will fill first and one court at Mason Park.....Tournament start time will be 10:00am. Gym opens at 9:30.
They are still deciding on the format but it'll probably be Scrambled Coed 4s. They might have a Scrambled Ws 6s, and possibly a Scrambled Ms 4s.
Please stay tuned for more details.Cost is $20 per person and will probably include lunch and a participant giveaway.
In the scrambled format, you only register half of a coed team.
For each match, you'll be paired with another half-team to form a coed 4's team. The other team will be built the same way.
